- Purpose is to enlarge the end of copper or soft aluminum tubes so equal size tubes can sleeve and be brazed securely.
- Enables straight sleeve joints with fewer couplings, reducing leak points and rework.
- Recommended workflow is cut square, deburr inside and outside, select the matching head, expand the end and braze.
- Apply a light lubricant on the head for smoother expansion and longer tool life.
- Ideal for aircond technicians, HVAC workshops, maintenance contractors and refrigeration cabinet makers.
- Not recommended for steel pipes or extra thick hard wall tubing.
- Inspect the tube edge for cracks or thinning before expansion to avoid failure.
